Midpoint is a Paso Robles-based wine brand known for its innovative and uniquely crafted wines. Each bottle features a distinct single-piece wrap label that mimics the effect of overlapping paper layers, blending photography with custom line art illustrations. Midpoint is a wine brand built around the idea of convergence—where art, place, and craft meet in equal measure. The project challenged us to design a collection that embodied this balance visually and materially, expressing both the experimental spirit of the wines and the refined precision of their making.
Each bottle features a single-piece wrap label designed to mimic the layered look of overlapping paper. Photography and custom line-art illustrations intertwine in unexpected ways, giving each label a dynamic, almost collage-like energy.. The design was carefully composed so that no two labels feel identical—each one offering a slightly different intersection of image, texture, and space.
To heighten dimensionality, we incorporated embossing and debossing techniques alongside clear silkscreen elements that highlight key details, such as the logo and portions of the artwork. These subtle material shifts catch the light and reinforce the brand’s emphasis on craft and curiosity. Two wines in the series take this approach further through direct-to-bottle silkscreen artwork, translating the visual language of the label into the glass itself for a clean, sculptural presentation.
What makes Midpoint cool is its confidence in simplicity: the labels are clean but full of depth, simple appealing imagery layered with artistic expression. The result is a collection that feels cohesive yet individual; each bottle is a work of balance between structure and expression. The Midpoint identity speaks not through ornament, but through careful layering, intentional detail, and the quiet confidence of precision design.
