Located within Raymond Vineyards in Napa Valley, the Theater of Nature is an immersive, biodynamics-based experience where the principles of organic and ecologically conscious farming are revealed in five theatrical “acts.” Guests walk the land, engage with soil, plants, animals and human stewardship—all integrated into a narrative of nature’s balance.

Explore the Living Stage

Objective

Located within Raymond Vineyards in Napa Valley, the Theater of Nature is an immersive, five-act experience where visitors explore the interconnected systems of soil, plants, animals, and human stewardship—all forming a living narrative of balance. Our challenge was to design a digital counterpart that could capture this sensory, story-driven journey and make it accessible to anyone, anywhere.

The goal was to translate the physical experience—rooted in movement, discovery, and ecological education—into a digital format that feels intuitive and exploratory. The platform needed to both prepare visitors before arrival and re-engage them afterward, providing context for Raymond’s biodynamic philosophy while extending the reach of its environmental storytelling. In essence, we set out to build a site that could teach through interaction, echoing the same balance of art and ecology that defines the vineyard itself.

Solution

We developed an interactive site that mirrors the structure of the physical tour, guiding users through each “act” of the Theater of Nature—Soil, Plants, Animals, Vineyardist, and Wholeness. Each section unfolds as its own experience, blending photography, illustration, and concise educational text to evoke the sense of walking the land. Subtle animations and visual transitions echo the rhythm of the real-world environment, helping users feel connected to the site.

The map’s interface was designed with layered logic: easy-to-use navigation supports first-time visitors, while deeper content reveals itself to those seeking more detail about biodynamic practices, sustainability, and Raymond’s holistic approach to viticulture. The result is a platform that functions simultaneously as a digital field guide and a narrative experience.

This project reflects our broader approach to digital storytelling. By grounding design in Raymond’s ecological values, we created an online experience that feels authentic, informative, and fully aligned with the estate’s mission.

Mobile Experience

The mobile version was designed to preserve the sense of exploration while optimizing for simplicity and speed. Users can swipe through each act seamlessly, guided by clear visual markers and lightweight animations that maintain the narrative flow without compromising performance. Content reorganizes intelligently for smaller screens, prioritizing imagery and short-form storytelling so that users can engage quickly.
