Our task was to reimagine the packaging for this established line, transforming a dated label into something vibrant, tactile, and unmistakably modern.
We approached the redesign as both refinement and exploration. The goal was to create a label that feels artful, confident, and connected to Castoro Cellar’s character. The existing identity had recognition, but it lacked the design detail and narrative depth that a reserve-tier wine deserved. We wanted the new Oakenshield to feel collectible without losing its approachability.
The concept began with a sketch. We envisioned an illustrated landscape that could wrap seamlessly around the bottle; playful yet controlled and rich in detail without excess. That framework became the foundation of the final artwork. The initial composition and structure were developed and refined by Priscilla Wilson. Her linework brought energy and movement to the piece, grounding whimsy with balance and precision.

The label is a one-piece wrap printed with layered gold foil woven throughout the illustration. The foil helps to emphasize form, light, and dimension within the artwork. A sculpted emboss adds further depth, giving the label a tactile presence that changes subtly under light. Typography was selected to complement the illustration’s rhythm, elegant but not ornate.
A shorter capsule completes the design, giving the package a clean, contemporary profile that accentuates the label’s full wrap. Together, these details form a label that feels distinctive, cohesive, and alive with personality.
